Plans to stage a Serie A match between AC Milan and Como in Perth have been abandoned.
The fixture would have been the first European domestic league game played outside its home country.
Serie A said the decision followed unacceptable demands from the Asian Football Confederation.
Those requests created financial risks and last-minute complications for Australian authorities and the league.
The match was due to be moved because the San Siro is unavailable during the Winter Olympics ceremony.
Uefa had previously approved the relocation despite initial reluctance.
Serie A hoped the game would help promote the league internationally.
However, officials said the conditions imposed made the event impossible to stage.
The cancellation follows a similar decision by La Liga to abandon plans for a match in Miami.
