Sixty-eight Pizza Hut restaurants across the UK are set to close after the company operating the chain’s UK outlets entered administration.
The closures, which include locations from Finchley Lido in London to Carlisle and Rhyl, will also see 11 delivery-only sites shut down, putting 1,210 jobs at risk.
DC London Pie, the franchise operator of Pizza Hut’s UK restaurants, appointed administrators from FTI Consulting on Monday. However, a pre-pack administration deal with Pizza Hut’s US parent company, Yum! Brands — which also owns KFC and Taco Bell — will preserve 64 restaurants and safeguard 1,276 jobs.
Matt Callaghan of FTI said the deal “provides a stable platform for one of the UK’s best-known dine-in brands” and ensures continued operation of the remaining sites. He added that administrators will work with affected employees to provide redundancy support.
