Erling Haaland once again proved unstoppable as Manchester City beat Bournemouth 3–1 to climb to second in the Premier League.
The Norwegian striker struck twice in the first half — his 25th and 26th goals of the season — punishing Bournemouth’s high defensive line. Despite Tyler Adams briefly equalising for the hosts after a Gianluigi Donnarumma error, Haaland quickly restored City’s lead before Nico O’Reilly sealed the win after the break.
Haaland, now on 13 league goals, joked afterward: “I think there were a few fantasy football managers unhappy I was subbed off.”
Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki were key creators, while O’Reilly’s fine finish on his 200th Premier League appearance highlighted City’s renewed attacking rhythm.
The victory, City’s sixth of the season, moves them to 19 points, six behind leaders Arsenal. Pep Guardiola praised his team’s control and Haaland’s clinical edge, calling the win “a strong response” after recent inconsistency.
