French authorities accuse Frédéric Péchier of poisoning 30 patients at Besançon clinics between 2008 and 2017, causing twelve deaths.
Investigators began scrutinizing Péchier after Sandra Simard suffered cardiac arrest during a routine operation in January 2017. Authorities found a dangerous potassium dose in her anaesthesia bag.
Prosecutors Claim Deliberate Medical Sabotage
Prosecutors allege Péchier tampered with infusion pouches to undermine colleagues and then assisted during resuscitations, claiming he “always had a solution.”
Péchier, a father of three, maintains his innocence and denies responsibility for any deaths. His lawyers state he plans to prove his case.
Lengthy, Technical Trial Continues
The trial, scheduled to last until December, challenges participants with its scale and technical complexity. Péchier remains under judicial supervision, not in custody.
