Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie has been identified as the Premier League player allegedly threatened at gunpoint by a football agent in north London.
The incident reportedly took place on 6 September in Cockfosters Parade, Barnet, while Udogie was out with a friend. Police were called, and a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, as well as blackmail and driving without a licence. He has been released on bail while investigations continue.
There is no suggestion that the suspect is Udogie’s agent. The Italian international was unharmed and returned to action a week later in Tottenham’s win over West Ham.
A Spurs spokesperson confirmed: “We have been providing support for Destiny and his family since the incident and will continue to do so. Given this is a legal matter, we cannot comment further.”
The Metropolitan Police said no injuries were reported and that inquiries remain ongoing.
